On my last flight, I brought pen and paper. They do pretty much the same thing as a laptop or iPad. Nobody checked them out. Not the pen. Not the paper. I wonder if they are a lower security risk. No, they can’t be. At least, the pen can’t be. We all know that “the pen is mightier than the sword”.
